Shard Art

Shard art is a painting technique developed by the artist Betz. Shard means broken pieces or fragments. She uses this broken colored glass, also called frit, to achieve a desired effect from light refraction on her painting. The frit comes in sizes from coarse to fine and has many colors to provide a wide range of possibilities. However, this method is dangerous, and one should use caution in not only painting with it, but also touching it afterwards.
