As a graduate from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California (1986), LeBold soon established an international reputation here in America and in Europe.
His passion for expressing and translating the beauty of nature with an ability to capture it on canvas led him to be inducted into Who’s Who in American Art (2002).
His career has been seasoned with Numerous One-Man shows across America and in Europe. While traveling the world, LeBold was captivated and drawn to one place in particular, Portugal. LeBold became recognized as a National Artist of Portugal and the townspeople of Sesimbra soon gave him the title of ‘Picasso Americano.’
From local to national publications such as, Plein Aire Magazine, numerous articles have been written about LeBold throughout his career. Listed as “one of the top 50 landscape painters in America” by The Artist’s Magazine added fuel to his reputation as his works were being collected by numerous corporate and private collectors.
COTTONWOOD ART ACADEMY
Mid 1990’s was the period Colorado and Colorado Springs in particular were to be the beneficiaries of a decision by LeBold to move there. With his passion to not only paint and express nature’s beauty, he had a burning desire to share. Sensing a need in the Art Community, he founded the Cottonwood Art Academy.” It soon became the epicenter of creative collaboration in Colorado Springs. Eventually, he heard the call of his muse with its need to travel and moved on, leaving the Academy, which became known as “The Cottonwood Center for the Arts.” A tribute to the Artist.
LeBold—while his work is full of emotion and spirit, the man remains passionate and a bit mysterious. To own one of his works is to own a share in the soul of nature and of the man.
LeBold’s works are currently on display at this Gallery through March 6th, 2021.
